Not accepting training clients
I am a graduate of Karen Pryor Academy which is a rigorous and esteemed program for dog behavior professionals that requires demonstrating excellence in knowledge, skills and teaching, and then maintaining certification through continuing education. I am committed to attending professional training conferences, seminars and workshops by leaders in the science of dog training on varied topics to stay up-to-date on the latest methodologies and findings. My certifications, along with required continuing education, ensure that you and your dog are receiving the most up-to-date training practices. I am also a Fear Free Certified Professional and carry a certification in genetics and applied ethology as a Family Dog Mediator.

I employ gentle, positive training methods based on scientific studies that have given us a better understanding of how dogs learn, think, feel and perceive the world around them. I believe that teaching dogs should be informed by science and rooted in compassion. I aim to create a learning environment that is safe, empowering, and accessible for every dog and person. I love helping people learn how to meet their dog’s needs while teaching them easy ways to help them better navigate everyday life. The goal is not to simply control the behavior, but to change it for the better. I will help you to understand how dogs communicate and learn, thus alleviating frustration and confusion on both ends of the leash. I will teach you how to observe your dogs closely, so you know what might trigger fear, excitement, or stress; what relaxes your dog; and what is rewarding and fun for your dog. I am committed to helping clients find the solutions they are looking for to create a calm home environment.
Just for fun:
When I am not working with clients, I am either volunteering training hours for foster families with Second City Canine Rescue or working on behavior modification with my fosters. In the summer, I love spending time outdoors - reading a book in the backyard, riding my bike around the neighborhood, or hiking in nearby forest preserves. While hibernating in the winter, I'm usually curled up on the couch, under a blanket, binge-watching shows, or planning a trip to a warm place.
